The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a

* Flood advisory for...
  The island of Kauai in Kauai County

* Until 915 PM HST

* At 613 PM HST, radar indicated areas of moderate to heavy rain 
  over the windward slopes of Kauai, with light to moderate rain 
  covering the remainder of the island. Rainfall rates of 1 to 2 
  inches per hour are occurring over portions of the windward 
  slopes, and stream levels in the area are beginning to rise. Radar 
  shows additional rain with embedded heavier showers moving 
  northeast toward Kauai from the coastal waters.

* This advisory includes the entire island of Kauai.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to
flooding.

Rainfall and runoff will also cause hazardous driving conditions due
to ponding, reduced visibility and poor braking action.

Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle, or on
foot. Turn around, don't drown.

This advisory may need to be extended beyond 915 PM HST if heavy rain
persists.

A Flash Flood Watch is also in effect for Kauai through Saturday 
afternoon.
