...THE FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 700 AM HST FOR THE
ISLAND OF MAUI IN MAUI COUNTY...

At 630 AM HST...radar showed a line of heavy showers affecting 
leeward portions of Maui, mainly impacting the area between Olowalu 
and Kihei. While showers were moving northeast near 15 mph, the line 
of showers was nearly stationary. Rainfall rates up to two inches 
per hour are occurring in the heaviest downpours.

Locations in the advisory include but are not limited to... 

Maalaea, Olowalu, and Kihei, including the Mokulele and Piilani 
Highway junction north of Kihei.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone to
flooding.

Rainfall and runoff will also cause hazardous driving conditions due
to ponding, reduced visibility and poor braking action.

Do not cross fast flowing or rising water in your vehicle, or on
foot. Turn around, don't drown.
